Can design change politics?

October 5, 2010 § Leave a comment

I believe we are a country of so much freedom we forget that we have it. We have this unbelievable right to vote, yet only 56.8% of eligible Americans voted in the 2008 presidential election (and that was the highest since 1968!) It may be laziness, it may be our little knowledge in current events, or it may be our lack of faith in our system (who can forget the hanging chads?) Maybe the digital age can cure all of this. We can have the ability to vote from home, receive updates on our email and maybe even have a better design that regains our trust in voting.

The New York Times invited readers to redesign the ballot, here are a few of the final projects.
